You do not need to seek out a healer in order to heal. You are the healer. No one will sit next to you in lotus position and ascend on your behalf. This is your journey. And it is a journey for one. No one can enlighten you, but you. You have an innate ability to heal yourself and to dream your reality into being. I believe that all souls are born equal— equal in their ability to create, to connect intuitively, to raise light (consciousness), and to serve the collective.
I also believe that everyone is a shaman. I do not link this concept to any one tradition, tribe or faith, but simply feel that we have no better word in our language for the concept of someone who can dance between the worlds; someone who is connected to the natural world and can see/feel/hear/sense/know that behind every form is energy; someone who takes responsibility for their own energy and sees the growth opportunity in every exchange.
A shaman uses their own connection to self/spirit (or God, Buddha, Allah, Creator, the Universe, the Tao, whatever you choose to call Source energy) to balance the energy of every action (on both an individual and collective level). They connect to both the yin and the yang, form and formlessness; knowing that both are vital. Shamans learn to bring first their own energy (and then that of those around them) into right reciprocity and balance—teaching themselves and others to take responsibility for this body, this lifetime, these belief patterns, and these egos that have convinced us all that we are separate from one another. A shaman understands how the universal laws are at play in every moment and that there is a season and cycle for everything; that every tiny moment is an opportunity to grow and raise more light (awareness). And most importantly, a Shaman accepts responsibility for his/her individual energetic impact on the world around us and looks to improve humankind’s impact on the planet.
All form is first initiated with a thought, with a sound wave, with your consciousness willing reality into being. And once this is understood on a visceral level, the healer or shaman within you can learn to transcend your ego much faster. To heal all wounds, to liberate yourself from heavy emotion, judgment, victim stances, or any other conditioned state that keeps you from your greatest self, your greatest service, and your Light.
In my opinion, the greatest service that any one individual can provide to the collective and to the planet is their own joy and their own dedication to self awareness. True service is to love yourself; to be your best self. Because the planet (and its energy currents) are not served by your misery, your guilt, your shame, your sadness, your self-contempt, your rage, your grief, etc.—it is best served by your joy! Because we are all linked in the great web of consciousness, you are balancing the rhythms and meridians of the Earth by doing your own process work, owning your patterns, healing your wounds, and finding your passion. One bright light can counterbalance the heavier and denser frequencies of thousands of sad souls. A bright soul is a soul that serves!
